“God turns up in the strangest places”

As DC talk sang, “God turns up in the strangest places”, he also turns up at the wierdest times, generally when you least expect it. This week has been hard, I didn’t expect ACA (a christian school in Asuncion) to be so spiritually dry. Lots of arrogant people who know in their head but not in their heart, but I’ll let God be the judge of them. Well anyways, we had worship practice for chapel tommorow and it was kind of not so exciting… Then while we where practicing “the heart of worship”, I just felt I had to say something, so I did. I asked ‘em what their expectations from this worship was, if we just wanted to read the words or mean them with our hearts, you can’t take the people where you haven’t been (spiritually speaking), so yeah, then I prayed and you could just feel the presence of the spirit and everyone was quite and pensive. Afterwards one of the guys (who is also in my class) came to me and said that they knew what I had said and prayed but they needed to practice it, that he really wanted to see that in this school. He said he had prayed for friends like Eric and me and now he had them (may I remind you this is the first week). Wow!!! Then I suggested we get together tomorow after school to pray and we invited some others and it’ll be awesome! My expentency from God is rising, it’s going to be a great year, and I just can’t thank Him enough. God is good!!!!

Fires

August 13, 2008 at 2:35 am (Uncategorized)

A fire burns much easier when it get’s nice dry branches and leaves and paper, it even helps to blow on it… When you lose those things, it get’s a bit tough to stay focused on burning, rather you tend to get distracted by meaningless or pointless things which seem important and good but are not really neccesary. Whatch out that you don’t die down to embers or the ash will cover you up, eventually smothering you completely… no… Find the support, look for the branches and paper and wind. Keep the fire burning strong!

Back Home!

August 7, 2008 at 5:47 pm (Uncategorized)

This is from last week:

It has been an amazing week in the Ore Mountains! We came here expecting something on the level of the last camps from last week… hahaha… yeah right! The team is awesome, we have never had a team that was so full power behind us, building us up with prayer and prophetic words…

Monday night, there was a big breakthrough already, almost all the teens came forward for prayer and we worshiped for hours and they didn’t want to quit, so we just continued praying and worshiping God!

Then Tuesday, when we prayed before starting the evening service, together with the team and we all prayed in tongues for one another and prophesied over one another and felt that that was the direction for the service. And it was. Bonds were broken, people prophesied over others (seriously, one guy who was not involved in the camps, he just came for the service, prophesied over this one teen whose name he never heard but he called him by his real name). Wounds were healed and tears of joy were shed… The Holy Spirit was so there, he touched everyone…

Wednesday we entered not knowing what to expect and pretty tired and some of us sick, but it turned out to be the best service as yet! For hours and hours people prayed for other people, using the gifts of the spirit. The kids and team where everywhere in the room, some sitting and searching their bibles like hungry and thirsty travelers, others worshiped and yet others walked around prophesying and praying and just praising God! The presence of the Spirit was so strong and it was totally amazing!

………………

Yeah, and now I’m typing this from ACA school in Asuncion… yeah, conmputer class is boring me a wee bit but at least I can catch up on online stuff… God is good and I see him bringing great changes to this school, there are some good people here who want it to advance spiritualy and Eric and me have already gotten to know some of them. Were both involved in the worship team, Eric drums, and me believe it or not I’m singing with two other people… haha..

God Bless!!!
