English Camp #1 finished
Doing great here, we got to sleep in the Neues Leben house this night but moving out again to the tents now. Last week was quite draining, also emotionaly and stuff cause we got pretty atached to some of the kids, for example this one 13 year old girl that was like a little sister to some of us, parents divorced and living in a fostor home, desastre. She got really attached to eric and me, lots of hugs, she called us her brothers…. there’s lots of other kids also, especially the younger ones, so cute and actually preteens yet, but so enthusiastic for God for their age… and most of the older ones, so mature for their age, saying this is just the begining of the christian walk, not the punto maximo…. every single person was touched… God even used this vietnamese teensager to prophesy to me, seriously, directly and later he was as if he didn’t really know what he had said, and what he said was like so full of wisdom that sound like something from daniel or jesaja or david or, yeah, well God. the same guy actualy the night before was actually was actualy slain the night before as I was standing beside him, I caught him and laid him on the ground, totally uncouncious, nobody did anything, we were just standing around praying for one another and blessing each other, haha, mike got kind of scared when he saw that, because neues leben and the management and all that but they understood just fine.
There is so much that happend, incredible and it was really like it says in the bible, every tongue will confess, and wow they did, arround 30 even went to a fusgaengerzone in a nearby city to evengalize on the streets…. The team also has and is changing lots, in the beginning you noticed the intelectual way of thinking and praying and now they are realying more and more on the spirit and less on their own understanding
We feel like We’ve been here years already, We know so many people so well already.
It’s so interesting, most of these kids from terrible background or very religious backrounds…. some even have been abused, family died, only one parent, divorces, etc… so sad, yet you see them finding new hope, God healing wounds that they’ve been hurting overe for years and just crying and crying and crying and crying and crying and crying….. lots. and then there are the ones who already where following God and have the gifts of leadership…. and the prayer warriors who get up an hour before everyone else and go pray and read the bible somwhere in a quite place…
Each night was different, the first where of basicaly pure worship, there where breakthroughs and desicions, then thursday was a night of healing and crying, I think everyone cried… then friday was like confirming, growing, maturing, building each other up and growing closer to Jesus.
I know I’m starting to sound more and more pentocostol are something, I can’t help it, I’m just following Jesus on a camp organized by evangelicals that are having their eyes opened to God. I thought before I knew God… hahaha hahaha, yeah right… you can never learn all his secrets, and just when you go to an evening service without ganas and a headache and little faith, God blows you away, and all you can pray after is “God, I don’t know how you did it, but you did, thank you”.
The most sung song on this camp was “Our God is an awesome God”, usualy started by the teens and not the worship team.
And then on saturday morning we juntar’d all the camps, preeteens, adults and little kids and the english camp teens sang some song and gave testimonies with the same “garra” and courage and loudness and joy as any other night, and adults where crying and so touched… later one couple gave us 100 euros and another paraguayan couple gave us two huge bags of different chocalates… yeah. And guess what else, the teens loved us so much, they promised to pray that people may give money so we can come again next year, and some where even calculating that just by giving 10euro each it would be enough already….. so we have no idea if that’s what God wants, but I would come back here in a heartbeat! if thats what HE wants. Even the board of directors asked us to come again, next years camps, and the some higher up guy from Janz Team that was visiting here that we don’t even know and he doesn’t even know us, asked if we could come again and travel all over Germany and go to diffirent churches and preach and sing… God is good and He’s opening doors everywhere.es
Yesterday we went to the Koelner Dom, it’s probably the biggest church in Germany, huge, but depressing, also the people arround their, tons of gothic-looking people and everthing you can imagine and not in variety of people, joyless. So we came back to NL and went to bed early. Some teens have already arrived and also some new team-members. It’s going to be and awesome camp! I’ll keep you posted!
July 18th 2008 in Germany!
